What we believe

The Christadelphians (Greek for "brothers and sisters in Christ") share a common belief in all Bible teaching which can be summarised as:

"The things concerning the Kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ" (Acts 8:12)

The Bible is the only true message from God and was entirely given by Him.

The Holy Spirit is God's own power, by which He works out his Holy Will.

Jesus overcame all temptation and died to save his followers from eternal death.

When Jesus returns, he will raise and judge the responsible dead and give immortality to the faithful.

Jesus will give immortal life to his followers, who will help him to bring everlasting righteousness and peace worldwide.

When man dies he ceases to exist. He has no immortal soul. The only hope of life is by resurrection at Christ's return, through belief in those promises.

The devil is not a supernatural being but is another name for sin, destroyed only in Christ.

There is only one God, the Father, who created the world and mankind in it.

Jesus is the Son of God. He is also Son of Man through being born of Mary.

Jesus was raised from the dead by God: he ascended to heaven, and will return.

Jesus will be King over the restored Kingdom of God in Israel and over the whole world.

God's promises to Abraham are the basis of the Gospel, and fulfilment of them will bring about the Kingdom of God on earth.

Repentance and baptism into Christ (by immersion in water), plus daily following of his example, are all necessary for ultimate salvation.
